"I am so grateful for my policy."
Last week one of our insureds called to tell us there had been a fire in her apartment complex. This fire destroyed 8 units, three days before Christmas. If things weren't destroyed from the fire itself it was destroyed by water used to put out the fire. Our insured left her home with her children and her phone. Luckily nobody was physically hurt.
Our claims department put her and her children up in a hotel and started issuing payments right away to get her life back on track. - "I am so grateful for my policy" she told us. She was the only person with renters insurance. That is SEVEN other families displaced from their homes 3 days before Christmas. Don’t wait a single second if you don’t have policies in place. You have no idea what today could bring. Protect yourself and have peace of mind.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reports that there were 490,500 structure fires in the United States in 2020.
So what are the main causes of these fires and how can we prevent them?
I think we should all be prepared for anything. So we should start off by having the proper coverage to rebuild our life if anything was to happen outside of our control.
We can make sure we have working fire extinguishers and test our smoke detectors regularly.
Keeping the stove and oven clean
Make sure we turn off appliances, hair tools, and blow out candles.
and of course use caution with electricity!
It's better to be safe than sorry.
